Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons people refrain from activity or miss days at work. Most acute lower back pain is mechanical in nature, indicating issues arising from components that make up the lower back (i.e. vertebrae, intervertebral discs, ligaments, muscles, nerves).

Some mechanical causes of lower back pain are:

There are a range of symptoms dependent on the underlying cause including:

  • Difficulty standing up straight
  • Muscle tightness or spasm within lower back, pelvis, hips
  • Stinging or burning pain that travels from the lower back down to the legs
